Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans One More episode till the finale.

EIN THE HERO WE NEED

This is a personal opinion piece that I am writing, why? Because the show is ending and I wish to share my thoughts with the internet. Simple as that. So let's start shall we? also..

SPOILER WARNING

So I got up to date with the show, only missed from episode 22 to 24, while the pacing in the show has vastly improved it does not mean that the core problems that the show has have improved as well, in fact it's the opposite. We still suffer from poor story development and proper characterization for many of the characters, there is hardly been any actual development asides from Mcgillis, Kudelia, Orga, Akihiro, Atra and to some extent Biscuit and the Turbines, rest of the cast has been pretty much the same from the start. The story was basically let's go to earth, and you would think they would have some fun an interesting adventures along the way, considering how good the first 10 episodes where, only to be disappointed with 7 boring episodes, the pacing completely came to a halt, the story they where trying to explain was expanded for too long, Yes we get it, Mars and some space colonies are having a bad time, yes the revolution arc was interesting but it was too many episodes too long, should have kept it to only 1.

Trust me guys, I'm totally not going to back-stab you

The problem with this is that from episode 18 onward the pacing has picking up but the story is now all over the place, now they will reach earth and meet this old guy that apparently is important to help Kudelia's cause, but it's obvious this guy is playing Tekkadan and using them for his own benefit.

Wah! Mika, what are we going to do bed? *pomf*

Orga's roll as a leader feels lackluster, he's being more reckless than usual, Mika is too cold-blooded and irresponsible, he will kill anyone without any second thought to make matters worse he doesn't even think of the repercussions. Yes he means well to protect his friends, but he doesn't consider the fact that he is also putting them in danger with his actions, more often than not.

Best Graze

So now we're in the final battle and what they did in episode 24, because they knew they ran out of time, was give you a shot of Tekkadan crew all injured and what not and tell you they've been fighting for 3 days.... Yeah I wouldn't have had a problem with this if it was actually presented better, but then again we need 2 episodes explaining how Fumitan is a traitor!

Fumitan was too adorable for IBO

I wished they didn't spend episodes 10-17 doing absolutely nothing, the story barely even moved, now everything feels so rushed. They could have introduced Carta for example a little bit earlier, investigate further the Gundam Frame history, expalin further why Mcguillios is a damn sociopath who manipulated his friends for his own benefits, Because him wanted Gallahorn to return to its true form sounds too weak for all the crap he's pulling. They should have also developed the must take this guy to the parliament arc earlier so we could have a better fleshed out story.
for me the show is mediocre, its on the same levels as Gundam Age.

 Too much fucking wasted potential.

Barbatos is crying!

Biscuit Death felt bland and predictable much like all the previous deaths in the show (Fumitan, Carta, Lafter, Azee, Akihiro's brother) the  reason these people got killed is basically to get a reaction from the viewer but what reaction can you get when you're planting death flags, the shock value is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if Maribett or Turbines  die in the final episode or if Orga and Mika are the only ones left alive. The show at least has good mecha designs...

Polygamy ending? SURE!
With one more episode left we can only hope they at least give this mediocre show a proper, satisfying ending....
